CPD Standards Offices Accreditation of Trageschule Courses

I’m DELIGHTED to tell you we’ve had the accreditation from CPD Standard Offices awarded to Trageschule
courses!!!

couse-21083

What it does this mean for you if you are considering a course with us in 2015? Well, if you are in a profession with CPD requirements (healthcare, social work, education etc) and are collecting CPD points, you can get an extra Certificate from us with CPD Standards credentials. What’s more, this may help persuade your employer to fund this part of your CPD for the year. If you simply want some extra peace of mind when deciding which training provider is right for you, hopefully this independent accreditation from a professional standards body will give you extra confidence in the high quality of our courses. And if the quality of your training is important for you, this accreditation means that Trageschule now has yet another organisation overseeing the quality of our courses and educational processes (bringing us to three in total: our mother organisation, Trageschule Dresden, and my «regulatory body» in communication skills training, the Center for Nonviolent Communication).

For me, it is extremely gratifying to have this acknowledgement of the quality of Trageschule courses, our course materials and educational processes. It’s a huge relief (after a LOT of work involved in this) to be awarded the accreditation after what seemed to me to be an extremely rigorous, detailed and quality assessment process. As a part of the assessment process, even the facts of my formal training for running these courses, and the fact of my CPD with Trageschule have come in useful 🙂 (if you do not know, I trained as a Course cheap accutane Facilitator with Trageschule Dresden, and I have been continuing my CPD with them, and I also devoted a lot of effort into becoming a Certified Trainer with the Center for Nonviolent Communication; I continue to develop and polish my skills in this area as well).

So if you are happy to hear it as well and want to join us in celebrating this and spreading the word, feel free to share this via social media, the web etc :).

And if you are interested in the courses coming up in 2015, we have spaces still at following Foundation Courses: Hebden Bridge, between Leeds and Manchester (February), Dublin (March), London (April — book soon — limited places available). See our Find a Course page for details, or write to us at care @ trageschule.co.uk (delete the spaces from the email address).

P.S. It’s my first post in 2015 — belated seasons’ greetings and I hope that you enjoyed the holidays and the start to the new year :). I have not blogged for at least six months now. They have been very full, busy and AMAZING! Work-wise, I went to the Trageschule Dresden Conference in June (loved all the talks on babywearing and special needs!) as a part of my CPD as a trainer. Stay tuned for more details — sign up to our Facebook page as I usually post the links to new posts there (sign-in box is to the right of this post 🙂 ).

Trageschule: facts vs interpretations, Part 2

If you enjoyed reading how the Trageschule T&C support our Graduates in offering safe and quality support to the parents in Part 1 of this blogpost, here is Part 2. Enjoy! This respondent has asked to remain anonymous.

Can you tell us in a couple of sentences how the Trageschule T&C have been for you? «I received a copy of the Trageschule T&Cs before commencing my Foundation course. I took time to read them which did throw up some questions for me that I wanted to have answered. I went about resolving these questions by contacting Olga by email, she was very forthcoming with her response and provided in depth, full answers that gave me the clarity I was seeking. For me the Trageschule T&Cs have ensured that I didn’t «run before I could walk» with regards to my skills and working with parents, carers and babies. Thus the T&Cs along with Olga’s reflective teaching style has ensured my safety and the safety of those I have and will work with. In addition the T&Cs ensure I always work within the limits of my insurance which is invaluable as I take pride in what I have to offer and the level of thought and consideration I give to the safety and security of those I work with. Furthermore, the T&Cs have instilled in me the values that I feel underpin the Trageschule methodology and techniques.»

How has it been for you re videos — in that Trageschule’s T&C asking you not to make instructional videos using Trageschule techniques (to help ensure the safety and quality of tuition)? «I have not had any problems with the T&Cs with regards to making videos. Simply, I do not make them and I do not find this a problem. I enjoy sharing photographs with my clients and likers on Facebook and am still able to do this in a fun, creative and useful way without breaching Trageschule T&Cs. When asked if I do or could make a video, I feel able and confident enough to explain why I don’t. For me, the skill of babywearing is one that should be passed on person to person in a 1-2-1 or group setting and if a client has not learnt enough from me during a consultation or workshop and thus requires a video, I’d be asking myself questions about my delivery/teaching OR asking my client what I could have done differently or what else they need to feel confident without needing to reply on a video. I do not feel that not making videos of Trageschule techniques devalues what I have to offer in any way. On the contrary, I think it ensures the safety and quality of what I offer and I am certain my clients value this.»

How has it been for you that Trageschule T&C ask you to act within the limits of your training (the same as the insurance T&C do)? I have been happy to wait before completing my next stages of training on my Trageschule journey with respect of acting within the T&Cs. This has not been a problem; in fact it has ensured that I have had time to approach my ideas in a thought out and considered manner rather than rushing in.

How has it been for you that T&C ask you to complete the appropriate level of training before starting to teach Trageschule techniques to those who would themselves be teaching parents (again, for safety and quality reasons, as well as to stay cheap accutane no prescription within insurance T&C)? «I have been volunteering at a local sling library alongside my Trageschule training and have never had a problem working in this environment with regards to the T&Cs; it has just meant that I have had to amend the way I work with those people in those circumstances. For example, helping them the most I can without using specific Trageschule techniques and recommending a 1-2-1 consultation if they wish to receive my full expertise and tuition. With regards to working with other babywearing consultants that are not Trageschule trained, I have just been very clear about what I do and how I do things being for their benefit as a parent and NOT for use as a professional. I am always very happy to be open and honest with people regarding this.»

How has it been for you that T&C ask you to do some CPD every three years (e.g. to complete the next course level, or to get the updates to the carrying techniques and research at Trageschule conferences or mini-conferences)? As yet, I have not completed any CPD as I have only recently completed my Trageschule training to Certification level, but in due course I will look forward to these sessions to keep my skills fresh and my knowledge as up to date as possible for the benefit of myself as a professional and the parents, carers and babies that I work with.

How has it been for you that Trageschule T&C ask you to stay within copyright laws (e.g. when using someone else’s copyrighted work that is not covered by existing agreements between you and them, to ask for their permission first?)? «I have found the course materials more than sufficient in terms of working with parents and carers. However, it is frustrating that not all written instructions are available for all of the carries that we learn on Foundation, Advanced and Certification courses (e.g. double hammock, mei tai back carry, back wrap cross carry). This is something I will be contacting Ulrike Hower about in the near future; my experience of her responding to such enquires has been excellent, she is helpful and understanding.

Anything else about T&C that has been relevant to your work/volunteering that you want to tell us about :)? “Whenever I have had questions about copyright, Olga and Ulrike have been my first port of call and I have always been delighted with the response.»

If you are considering attending one of our courses and have any questions about T&C/Agreement, do get in touch. I’d be happy to answer your questions over the phone or email. We have two Foundation Courses coming up in 2015 :). Hebden Bridge in the North: 27 February – 1 March 2015 (contact olga @ trageschule.co uk for more details or how to book), and London one in the South: 17-19 April 2015 in North London near Kings Cross (contact olga @ trageschule.co uk (delete the gaps in the email 🙂 ) for more details or how to book) . Watch this space for more dates being announced for the Advanced and Certification Courses. Also, you may be able to take an advantage of a new deal when booking two levels together. This way you would get value-packed,  five days’ worth of intensive training, empowering you to take your ability to help parents to a new level,  with a time in-between to catch up with your family, work/volunteering and life, and to support others your new skills :)!

Trageschule: facts vs interpretations, the other side of the story :)

As a few people have been asking us about the Trageschule Agreement with its Course Participants (further referred to as T&C), we asked them in return to tell us how the T&C have been for them when supporting parents. I am especially happy to share their replies as they address some misinformation that has been appearing recently about Trageschule. I guess that not everyone has all the facts, and there are clearly misguided interpretations doing the rounds about what we are trying to do. If you encounter any such misinformation, please feel free to link directly to this article and suggest that the people asking about Trageschule check out these articles and our website and then, if they still have questions or doubts, to contact us directly so that they can gain the other side of the story and get a balanced view based on clear facts.

Why is this important for me? I have heard time and time again from those who trained with Trageschule (check our previous blogposts and feedback) how the training empowered them to support the parents and babies. Here is what one of our course participants said recently, shortly after the course:
«Olga I want to thank you SO much for the fantastic training you have given, I think I totally underestimated the ‘gap in the market’ in our local area, things are really taking off and I’m having so much fun along the way working with all these lovely parents and carers» (LC, South of the UK). So I would not want for you to miss out just because of any misinformation :).

Here is Part 1 – enjoy! And if you like it, do check out Part 2 here :)!

Katrina hip carry Tell us in a couple of sentences about yourself :)? My name is Katrina, I run West Pennine Slings and Hold Close Babywearing Consultancy in Blackburn with Darwen, Lancashire. Website & FB Page

Can you tell us in a couple of sentences how Trageschule T&C have been for you? I initially trained before the current terms and conditions came in (editor’s note: the update to T&C happened in 2013) and I must admit that I when I was looking into doing the advanced course I was a little apprehensive about all the changes to them. Talking to Olga in more detail put my mind at rest and gave me the confidence to book onto the course. Having now completed both the advanced and certified courses I now fully appreciate the terms and conditions and understand why they are in place. I feel that they helped to prevent me from jumping into a couple of situations before I was ready.

How has it been for you re videos — in that Trageschule’s T&C ask you not to make instructional videos using Trageschule techniques (to help ensure the safety and quality of tuition)? Personally for me it is not an issue at all as I don’t particularly enjoy making videos so it gives me an excuse! In all seriousness though going through the courses has shown me how hard it is to convey everything necessary in a video, photos or written instructions. I would feel uneasy about passing any of these materials onto someone who hadn’t had any in person instruction from me.

How has it been for you that Trageschule T&C ask you to act within the limits of your training (the same as the insurance T&C do)? Acting within the terms and conditions hasn’t really been a problem for me and I feel that it has helped me keep within my skill level and not get ahead of myself. I did do some other training before my advanced course and felt that I was ready to carry out workshops after this. However the advanced course really expanded my knowledge and ideas for workshops and I feel my service has dramatically accutane isotretinoin improved. I am currently looking to go even further with the Trageschule training and do my medical trainer license, this means one of the projects I want to start in my local area won’t go ahead until I have completed this training but I feel the benefit of doing it far outweighs any disadvantage of a delay.

How has it been for you that T&C ask you to complete the appropriate level of training before starting to teach Trageschule techniques to those who would themselves be teaching parents (again, for safety and quality reasons, as well as to stay within insurance T&C)? Again, going through the Trageschule training has shown me how important it is to stay within your boundaries as I see my own development from stage to stage. I do run a library that also has peer supporters working with me, they aren’t Trageschule trained although they have completed a small amount of training with another school. At the library sessions we are very clear that the support you receive is nowhere near what you can expect from a consultation and the peer supporters themselves understand that although they may pick up things from watching me they can’t call themselves Trageschule trained.

How has it been for you that the T&C ask you to do some CPD every three years (e.g. to complete the next course level, or to get the updates to the carrying techniques and research at Trageschule conferences or mini-conferences)? This is something that concerns me slightly because I worry that I won’t be able to afford CPD or I won’t be busy enough to justify it. However, I understand the importance of keeping up with the industry, things can change very quickly. I used to work in the photographic industry until about five years ago and from speaking to old colleagues I can see that it would now be very difficult for me to re-enter the industry at the same level I was, things have moved on dramatically.

«How has it been for you that Trageschule T&C ask you to stay within copyright laws (e.g. when using someone else’s copyrighted work that is not covered by existing agreements between you and them, to ask for their permission first?)?» To me this is common sense, you don’t steal the work of others. It’s definitely not something I have been concerned about in any way. It also makes sense to ask before using something, I have found on a couple of occasions that I have nearly used something in a way that the original author would not have been happy with, I hadn’t meant to but if I had assumed it could have turned into a much bigger deal.

**Congratulations to Katrina and family on the birth of her new baby C.!

What helps us help parents learn how to use slings – when those parents are feeling down, upset, challenged or unreceptive to what we are sharing?

SAMSUNG CAMERA PICTURESI have been sitting with my whole family waiting for the Tour De France to go through the town (“BOOOORING!!” said the children after a long wait! And “Mum! See that woman with an SAMSUNG CAMERA PICTURES E-mei!!! Baby carrier!!! QUICK!!!” — spot the woman in the photo 😉 ), when I got the most amazing message.

I feel touched and warm and happy and want to share it with you (with the author’s permission) :).

A Babywearing Consultant (Trageschule Advanced Course) posted this “Who recognizes this one. Love you Olga” (shared with her permission) alongside the below quote … “Teachers who reflect on how they feel and why they feel the way they do are in a better position to understand their interactions with others.” Tamar Jacobson “Don’t Get so Upset…” … , and quite a few other Trageschule Graduates liked it 🙂 (thank you all! You’ve so made my day!).

If you have not heard of Tamar Jacobson, check her out. She is an Oustanding Teacher Educator Award Winner. I feel so inspired reading about her and her writings. Both the quote above and the one which follows capture so perfectly what the Trageschule approach is about.

“I want to give them different options for approaching situations, as well as a more compassionate way of viewing the world, both inside and outside of the classroom. I truly care about them and their lives.” Tamar Jacobson

Yes, Trageschule training is about learning carrying methods and techniques and research for helping parents and caregivers with learning how to use a sling. And this training is also about getting skills for supporting a parent wherever they are in their life. And having a certain measure of communication skills for non-judgmental and compassionate support is crucial for this. This is why it is a part of Trageschule courses. And this is also why several courses, each one building on what has gone before, are essential for developing this capacity and deepening the self-reflection that Tamar Jacobson is talking about.

I have witnessed over the last three years, hearing from many of our Graduates, how these skills empowered them to help parents (including those feeling low, unsure about their ability to sling, or desperate to get it working or experiencing other challenges) AND actually save time when helping parents learn how to use a sling! I have been totally privileged to see the HUGE growth that happens between an Advanced and Certification course now with accutane no prescription three Certification courses over the last three years.

This is also why preparing to become a Trageschule Trainer takes two more learning programmes past the Certification Course. As it takes time to grow the ability to understand ourselves to be better able to help others learn and support the parents. And this ability, I believe, is CRUCIAL for helping course participants to develop skills for providing parents and babies with support and learning that is both effective and compassionate.

I am so GRATEFUL to have witnessed this, too. I am grateful to those of you who have chosen Trageschule for your babywearing education journey, for your trusting me with supporting your learning :). Thank you. And here is what two of our course participants had to say about why the communication skills component was a crucial part of their learning (shared with their permission – thank you!). Notice how this resonates with Tamar’s words, too :). Enjoy :)!

“I thoroughly enjoyed the course -and am so excited about starting up a local sling meet again. Thank you.

However, for me, this course turned out to be more than just the Trageschule foundation course — it was like a retreat! I feel energised; more grateful; more mindful of my thoughts, actions and reactions. It was an honour and pleasure to have met you and I felt quite overwhelmed with gratitude as we were leaving the hostel yesterday evening.

Many, many thanks again

And thank you for the inspiration.”

Gillian W

“Thank you so much for a wonderful weekend at the last babywearing course. It was such a pleasure to meet you. I really enjoyed the course and many moments have stayed with me. Quite apart from learning all about babywearing, there were many aspects of the communication & listening skills that have helped me enormously. I did mention at the closing of the course that there could be perhaps less role play in favour of practising our wrapping skills, but in fact it has been the role plays and subsequent discussions that have stayed with me most.”

Lynda D

If this is something that resonates with you, too, and you’d like to get these skills alongside the babywearing techniques and research that we teach, we’ve still got spaces on our Shrewsbury course 5- 7 September (email care @ trageschule.co.uk -delete gaps). There are also the last few spaces left on our Belfast course 19-21 September, if you want more information please email care @ trageschule.co.uk — delete gaps.

Another success story from Trageschule Graduate :)

IMG_8008I am thrilled to have received this success story from Ina Doyle (in the photo on the left), who has been supporting families since 2008! Ina completed her Foundation Course with Trageschule in 2011, and Trageschule Advanced Course in 2012. Read on to find out more on how the skills and knowledge Ina acquired in her training with Trageschule helped Ina to provide compassionate, empathetic and highly effective support with slings and carriers to so many parents. ( The testimonials of Ina’s clients speak for themselves :). Enjoy!

Tell us about yourself?

I’m Ina, mum of three, originally from Germany and living in Louth, Ireland for over 11 years now … Two of my many hats are being a volunteer for Babywearing Ireland and running bumptobeyond , offering parenting support through babywearing and breastfeeding (for now).

How was it for you before your Trageschule training?

I’ve grown up with keeping babies close in slings and breastfeeding them being the norm but found the mainstream attitude to parenting being very different here in Ireland when I had my first baby in 2007. A lot of my support was found online. I volunteered to manage a set of demo slings in the Northeast for Babywearing Ireland in early 2008. It was hard going, nobody had any interest in Sling Meets (how humbling, to organise and advertise and invite and explain …and nobody showing). I did demos at playgroups and breastfeeding groups, at pregnancy yoga, I did one-on-one support in my house. Slowly, mainly through the breastfeeding groups in Drogehda and the one I started with a friend here in Dundalk, more people started using slings. I knew about Babywearing Consultants in Germany, balancing supporting my expanding family financially and offering babywearing and breastfeeding support voluntarily became harder. And having a background in teaching, I was aware of my limitations in knowledge and comfort levels in the support I was offering.

How did you discover us?

Through Babywearing Ireland, the opportunity presented itself to do the Foundation Course with Trag UK here in Ireland. I saw taking the course as an opportunity to combine continuing to support parents and providing for my family financially, expanding my comfort levels.

What has your Trageschule training helped you achieve?

Little did I know the course would do more for me… I had started training as a Breastfeeding Counsellor before and observed Olga’s actions and especially words from that perspective. I learned A LOT about gentle, compassionate communication with parents, became a lot more aware of their vulnerability and my position in the support relationship. I remember a lot of lightbulb buy accutane in usa moments also when it came to breaking down steps for parents learning how to use a sling. It made a lot of sense to the teacher in me, it opened the door, built a bridge for my teacher training and passion for passing on babywearing and responsive parenting to combine.

After the course, I was a lot more confident in demo, sling meet and one-on-one situations which created a much calmer atmosphere for everyone.

Doing the Advanced Course one year after the Foundation Course, having more experience and increased awareness was incredibly beneficial to getting the most out of this step of the training. Again, I came out of it bigger.

When I first did the Trageschule training, I wasn’t sure about the focus on wrapping — not many people wrap here, certainly not as a starter sling … Over the years I’ve come to realise though, that knowing (about) good wrapping is the basis for solving a lot of «issues» clients encounter with other types of slings! Ulrike (editor’s note: Ulrike Hower, of Trageschule Dresden ® – Trageschule CIC “mother” organisation) and Olga do know what they are doing after all 😉 !

Your recommendations?

Two things myself and other participants who did the training with me found beneficial:
1. having experience using slings before doing the Foundation course lessens the intensity of the learning and flattens the learning curve
2. leaving a one year gap before the next step made processing information, asking questions and gaining from the advanced course easier

Thank you so much Ina for sharing your experience and your journey with us :)!

To celebrate an AMAZING year for Trageschule :)…

The last Foundation course for 2014 in the UK (in Shrewsbury) is getting closer! So to celebrate an AMAZING year for Trageschule :), and as a thank you to those who have booked on this last UK Foundation course of 2014 already (and to those who may do before 28 June*), I am thrilled to offer two equally amazing bonuses. If you have booked on the course already, you get them automatically (unless you choose not to 🙂 ).

The Foundation course offers outstanding value as is, with £125 worth of teaching/consultancy materials included in the training kit AND teaching methods and techniques that have empowered so many of our Graduates to achieve amazing results (e.g. see this, this and this success stories and our Feedback). With these bonuses, I believe that the value of what you get would be even higher :). If you are interested, do read on :)!

Bonus 1 (worth £45 RRP) trag offer(1)

Book by 28 June* and get a teaching and advocacy pack of Babywearing posters and art prints worth £45 (RRP).

All of them were created to show babies in a variety of slings in physiologically optimal positions. So I do believe that they make for effective peripheral learning :). I also do believe that fewer details than a photograph and simplicity of the colours may be soothing and attractive to those of us in heightened “right-brain” states (e.g. many parents of newborns, expecting parents or breastfeeding mothers).

I was told by a local GP (who is a babywearing mother) that the Art Prints grace the walls of her surgery, and during our recent Kyiv Foundation course, two of the posters went to live in an Antenatal Clinic in Kyiv :). And you can see the posters made it to the Irish Babywearing Conference and were used for a presentation there :). Many Trageschule Graduates use A5 Babywearing Prints as a small gift after the consultation or workshop, too.

The posters and Art Prints are exclusive to Trageschule CIC. You may be surprised to find out that, as the artist who created these Art Prints and Posters, I have been asked to sign them a few times :). If this is something you would like as well, just ask at the course :).

Bonus 2 (worth £160 RRP)

If you want to carry over the enthusiasm, confidence and sense of community from the course into your daily Babywearing Consultancy work, volunteering, or the other ways you spread the babywearing love, you can get it from the comfort of your home, AFTER the course! All you need to participate is a phone line or Internet access (for Skype or similar).

With this bonus, you have four 1.5 hour sessions of group coaching – with the same people who you were on the course generic accutane cheap prices with! What you would get out of it:

— support from people you have met in person and know (including myself), and, hopefully, feel comfortable with

— encouragement and non-judgemental feedback that would boost your confidence

— a sounding board for fine-tuning your plans and strategies as you put them into action

— resources that suit YOU to work out any tricky situations: we would take the time to work out these situations to your satisfaction (rather than random suggestions that do not suit YOU from people who do not know YOU)

— information and ideas that are supported by evidence (rather than opinions), which would save you time checking, double-checking and cross-checking the reliability of what you get

— a friendly environment and a community of people who you met, where you can grow and blossom. So often I hear from the course participants that they have made friends on the course and it’s sad to part… by meeting up over a group call, you get to hear each other again

— real-time interaction to make sure you can clarify anything that is not crystal clear (rather than having to wrestle time from your busy schedules because of something you have misunderstood, as can sometimes happen with written communication over the Internet)

Having recently supported a few people in this way, and having had similar support and coaching myself on and off, I trust that the benefits that you can get from this are amazing. And I am thrilled to offer this to you as a one-off bonus, so that you can have these benefits too.

If you decide to take what you are doing with babywearing to a new level (and get even more value out of a course that already delivers a ton of value, if the testimonials of our Graduates are to be believed — see links above 🙂 ), we still have some spaces available on Shrewsbury course. For more information and booking form , email Simo at chibisimo @ hotmail.com (delete the gaps).

And if you are interested in these bonuses (total value £205, on top of £125 worth of consultancy/teaching materials you receive in your training kit), do add a reminder to your calendar: e.g. 12 midnight 27 June if you think 36 hours will leave you enough time to make your booking!

I look forward to seeing you at the course! 🙂

*to qualify, your booking form and deposit must reach us by 12 noon on 28 June 2014

*the offer is only applicable to original bookings and is not transferable to anyone who may be taking over your booking after 28 June 2014

*The bonuses are only valid with the original booking and are not for resale. *Both bonuses are receivable only if the Shrewsbury course is attended

A Success Story :) (shared via video from a Trageschule Graduate :) )

I am delighted to share this story of one of our Graduates with you. It is especially sweet to have it as Emily E. of Wear Them With Love has really put to good use all the skills that she learnt during her Trageschule courses. And it sounds like Emily has achieved some amazing results in an impressively short time, to the benefit of the parents and babies nearby :).

I also totally recommend watching this video, as Emily shares her decision-making process when choosing the training that was right for her and what she wanted to do. I believe accutane buy that her taking time to find out what was important for her and arranging time with me to talk over the phone has been one of the reasons why she has been able to get so much out of her Trageschule training :).

Here is Emily talking about her Trageschule training and what she has been doing with it. Enjoy :)!

And if you enjoyed the story, do susbcribe to our newsletter (right-hand side of the page) for more news. Or check out our upcoming courses (including September one in Shrewsbury) :).

I’ll see you there :)!

Congratulations to the Graduates of Certification Course in Hebden Bridge!

I invite everyone to join us forCake2 virtual cake (see photos) to celebrate the Certification of Debs Neiger (York), Katrina Shepherd (Blackburn and Darwen/West Pennines), and Emily Edwards (Shropshire). My congratulations to Debs, Emily and Katrina on their Certification :). And my heartfelt thanks to you for your trust in choosing me to accompany you on your learning journeys :).

Overall, we had an amazing course in Hebden Bridge – and a wonderful Cake1“birthday” of three Trageschule Certified Babywearing Consultants 🙂 (hence the candles on the cake)! We have actually managed to combine some serious learning with fun and eating cake :)! And huge thanks to Emily Edwards for the photos!

I am really happy to know that tips and feedback that are offered during Certification help our Graduates to reach out and connect even with sceptical people in the groups and win their audience over. Imagine how much you can build your confidence in speaking to groups when offering a talk or a presentation at the course, in a friendly group, who are all rooting for you. Imagine how it would be to get honest and constructive feedback — which is also kind and non-judgemental and celebrates YOU!

I am also pleased to hear that the Certification course further helps to build confidence through hands-on skills for the effective teaching of babywearing to groups. This holds true whether your group would be complete beginners or more experienced sling users. Imagine how it would be to have buy accutane confidence that your workshop participants would leave the event being able to reproduce the success of carrying their baby safely and comfortably by themselves, at home!

We also deepened our skills in troubleshooting tricky group dynamics and challenging interactions in presentations, groups and consultations. This is what gives you mastery in creating and maintaining a conducive, safe and friendly learning environment. If you have ever had been on a course or in a workshop where you did not feel comfortable and did not know what to do, this is the part of the toolkit for sharing babywearing that would help you to make yourself and the others feel more at ease and achieve what you want to achieve!

A success story — Trageschule Foundation Course Graduate

20130808_175010-225x300I LOVE hearing about how those who trained with Trageschule are getting on :). This is one thing that motivates me about my work – supporting the success of those who help parents to carry their babies :). And today I am thrilled to share with you (with her permission) Méabh success story :)!

Tell us about yourself :)? Hi, My name is Méabh and I run www.snugglebugs.ie which is an online Babywearing Shop and Consultancy Studio. We also open our Studio twice a week for people to come in and get advice, see and try the slings and purchase if they wish. Also help run the Kildare Sling Meets and Library under Babywearing Ireland Voluntary Organisation.

Tell us about how it was for you before the course? I had been running Sling meets before doing the course and it really helped me gain confidence is showing people how to use the slings correctly.

Tell us about what you have done since Foundation Course? Since doing the training I set up my own consultancy which was going very well and then opened up an Online buy accutane online Babywearing Shop and Consultancy Studio with a friend of mine.

What do you want to tell our readers? I really enjoyed Olga’s course. It is very informative and breaks the steps into easy learning stages. I felt it really added to the knowledge I already had about Babywearing. I am looking forward to doing the next stage of the training!

(Thank you Méabh for sharing with us :)!)   ??????

I am looking forward to seeing Meabh at the Advanced course in July 2014 :)! In case you missed a chance to get there, there is still the last Advanced course this year in November 2014 in Hebden Bridge :).

If you are interested to find out more about the successes of our Graduates and Trageschule news, do subscribe to our Newsletter 🙂 at www.trageschule.co.uk (a side bar on the right of the page).

And if you wanted to do a Trageschule course for a while, we still have spaces left on the (confirmed :)!!!) course in Shrewsbury in September :)!Booking is easy, details are here http://www.trageschule.co.uk/find-a-course/ .

I look forward to seeing you :)!

Trageschule VIDEO interview and testimonial from Kyiv, Ukraine course!!!

Have you been feeling down about the state of human condition and if there is any hope after even glimpsing the news from Ukraine? This video, an interview with Nina Zaychenko, the Trageschule course organiser in Kyiv, leaves me delighted, touched and moved :). Would you like to feel uplifted as well? Watch the video :).

If you want for it to be subtitled in English, please leave a comment on our Facebook page 🙂 . I am asking because if there is interest, I’d do my best to make it possible to subtitle it :).

Once again, I am moved by strength of human spirit — mothers’ spirit most of all. So I invite you to watch it and hear what Nina says about how Trageschule course was for them and how it may help them to support parents in Ukraine.

And for me, this is what Trageschule about — opening doors, supporting each other, keeping our agreements because we care about the others. This what motivated me to e.g. make it to Kyiv (and, before that, in 2012, to take on the courses that were left without a facilitator after my ex-business partner stepped down). I value all of you who have trained with Trageschule, I value what difference you are making for the families, and want to give my 100% to supporting you :)!

Huge medications acne treatment thanks to Nina for her filming the video, editing it and being the star of this interview :)! And once again, thank you all who have attended a course with us, whether in the UK, Ireland, Russia, Ukraine or Malaysia, for being the stars too! And if you are interested in finding out more about training as a Trageschule consultant, please do get in touch 🙂 (or sign up to out newsletter on www.trageschule.co.uk for more information).

Or if have already decided you would like to build up your confidence and get skills for teaching complete beginners (including sceptical people!) in 2.5 days’, sign up for our Trageschule Foundation Course in Shrewsbury :). To make it easy for you, I offer a gift of the doll’s and slings’ loan for the course :). Signing up is easy — email me at olga @ trageschule. co. uk for more information (delete the gaps). I look forward to seeing you on the course :)!

P.S. Have you noticed… I am also in the video 🙂 (it was rather a jittery and exciting experience 🙂 — can you tell?)!!! I hope to meet you in person on Shrewsbury course this September :)!
